The club currently has one official flying field, Pelican Park.

Pelican Park -- Clontarf (Redcliffe), just over Hornibrook bridge
2rd and 4th Sunday of each month, 12 to 4 pm

When Redcliffe took part in a cultural exchange with their sister city Onoda, Japan, the city council invited us to fly with that cities visiting kitefliers. This became a big festival event which suprised not only us but the council as well.

The council built a pavilon for use by flyers on fly days. As such we now have a roofed area for our gatherings and "better-halves'' on our fly days.
Pelican Park is one of the best flying areas around Brisbane. It does not matter which way the wind is coming from, the Park is good for all directions. The housing on one side is well away from the park and all low set dwellings. And no large trees either.

Kite anchoring is no problem with a log fence around the large central oval area. Then there is a major road into to Redcliffe Pensulia running right past the field ensuring a good crowd of onlookers to make flying more enjoyable. Parking is right next to the field and a kids play area as well.
A sandy beach just 200 meters further, which provides a perfect launch area for both the kite surfers and a local jetski club.

The park is a great place to fly. We hope to see you there!

Note: Redcliffe City Council has recently imposed restrictions on Kite buggies or other associated kite powered vehicles at Pelican Park. Such vehicles caught on public land will be imposed with a $1500 fine.
