When David Bawtree joined the club he
started flying numerious single line kites, built using the tough
``Big W'' shopping bags and dowel. Not only that, he made sure that
he retained and incorperated the ``Big W'' logo into the kite design,
not cutting it out as most kite builders would. |
| Since his initial creations above (pre-1999),
considerable development has happened to David Bawtree's kite stable.
The following images give you some idea but are not a complete picture...

A 3 x 2 meter Double Conyne
(French rescue/war kite). A very powerfull and stable kite requiring
a lot of drag to keep it from flying to the vertical. Detachable panels
between the triangular boxes allow this kite to fly in many different
winds. |

ribon tails and wing streamers. The design is an original, inspired
by a picture of the Christian Holy Spirit. |
| The ``Eternity Kite'' is a standard 2
x 1.8 meter Rokkaku kite. This is the first in a series of `parable
kites', with a hidden meaning in thier decoration. Made from tyvek
and traditional bamboo, with a water basied acrylic paint for colouring.
